At Best Pest Control of Manhattan, LLC, we pride ourselves on being a family business through and through. Founded in April 1987, Ruth A. Rheaume began the company as a sole proprietor with her two sons –John and Jeff Rheaume– and daughter –Lori Rheaume-Fenton– by her side. Ruth’s grandson John Jr. joined the team in 2005, marking the start of an active three-generation family business.

At Best Pest Control, we strive to live up to the standards set by our name, and truly be the best pest control company around. Our goal is to uphold our reputation for honest, conscientious job performance, and prompt professional services at a fair price. We always aim to improve our standards of excellence and provide exemplary results for our clients.

We have numerous years of experience handling government, state, residential, and commercial pest control jobs. John and Jeff, combined, have more than 85 years of experience in the industry. We have a proud history of working with Ft. Riley and Kansas State University Housing & Dining  Services, to ensure all their pest control needs are met. We pride ourselves on having excellent relationships with our clients and provide free inspections and estimates to ensure that. We also work on a no-contract basis. Best Pest Control has been an integral part of the Rheaume home and business since 1987, and we hope to make it a part of yours, too.

Owner

After moving from Massachusetts to Kansas in 1981, Ruth has worked in many office environments, from insurance to banking, to pest control services. In April 1987, she started Best Pest Control Co. with her two sons and in 2012 became known as Best Pest Control of Manhattan, LLC. She's still actively working providing bookkeeping services. Ruth enjoys reading and cooking in her time off.

Jeff Rheaume

General Manager, Manhattan & surrounding areas; Pest Control Technician

After graduating from high school in Massachusetts and moving to Manhattan, KS in 1981, Jeff started working in the pest control industry and helped establish Best Pest Control of Manhattan in 1987. He enjoys working with people and helping to solve their pest problems, answering their questions and allaying their fears. When not working, Jeff likes to watch all types of sports, especially when his grandkids are playing. He also enjoys spending time puttering around the house, yard, and garden.

John Rheaume Sr.

General Manager, government & state contracts; Pest Control Technician

In 1974, John Sr. started working for Schendel Pest Control and moved on to Anti-Pest in 1979. There he primarily provided services and bids for various military facilities around the United States. After helping to establish Best Pest Control in 1987, he has primarily provided services for federal and state contracts as well as residential and commercial locations. In his down time, John enjoys fishing, gardening, and spending time with his wife of 39 years, Susan. Susan also used to be a certified pest control technician for the company, but stepped aside due to health reasons.

Lori Rheaume-Fenton

Office Manager

Lori started working as a pest control technician in 1991 and then began working in the office after an injury. Over the years, she has gradually taken over its management, overseeing day to day operations, scheduling services, providing government and state billing, and various other office needs. In her down time, Lori loves reading, gardening, spending time with her cats (both at home and work) as well as her recently retired husband.

Pest Control Technician

John Jr., Ruth's grandson, is the third generation of this family business and started in 2005. Along with providing quality control inspections and services for federal and state contracts, he also performs general pest, termite, and weed control services for various clients. John enjoys video games and spending time with his wife and pets in his time off.

Royce Fechner

Pest Control Technician

Royce is one of the newer members of the team, joining in 2022 and he has thoroughly enjoyed learning all of the aspects of pest control. Royce is actively working on advancing his certifications to include weed control services in addition to his current certifications in general pests and termite control services. He enjoys working with people and helping solve their pest issues. In his down time, Royce loves to fish.

Registered Pest Control Technician

Gage joined Best Pest in 2023 and is still learning all the aspects of pest control services, from ant control to weed control. As he gets more training, Gage hopes to be able to spend more time working with customers one on one and helping them with their pest issues. Like his brother, Royce, Gage loves to spend time fishing.

Kevin has been with Best Pest for four years now. He loves being able to help with any issues their customers may be experiencing. In his time off, Kevin enjoys outdoor activities with his family and friends.

Daniel Wehmueller

Pest Control Technician

Daniel started working at Best Pest Control about four years ago. He really enjoys problem solving and educating customers while providing pest control services. When Daniel isn't working, spending time with his family and friends in the outdoors is his passion.
